Election Post-script
The 2 Davids and Norm T. set out from Foi Epi at 9:15 sharp following the E & N trail to join the Goose. At Hatley David N. had to turn back for an “appointment”. In the interim James and Doug set a steady but gentle pace from Royal Roads to Metchosin. Despite numerous off-leash dogs they arrived safely in the Broken Paddle Cafe, to be joined very shortly thereafter by Norm T and David A who had made good time from Fol Epi. Having missed last weeks election while in the UK on family business, James was anxious to hear commentary on the Federal election results. Generally the response was optimistic with some concern over growing debt - particularly at the Provincial level. But it wasn’t all politics, the details of engine oil production and testing were discussed as well as the fascinating world of PAO - poly-alpha-olefins a synthetic base oil used in synthetic engine oils that makes them very expensive.
