The Renegade Brigade
Six riders left from Foi Epi to be joined along the way by Rusty and David A. 7 Riders did the long ride to Sidney. Close to 60 km round trip on the official route. Perhaps the "funniest" thing to happen in a while was an excitable flag man trying to herd us around some construction on Lochside Drive, just past Royal Oak Drive. A few renegades ignored the hapless flagman and went around him in a lane he was vehemently not recommending. The flagman tried to spread his arms and legs wide enough to block the way, to no avail. The cheeky bikers sailed past. Today's flagman had a stream of threats and unpublishable words. A video of this would have been awesome. However, think back to the cyclist who ignored a flagger at the Blue Bridge recently!
*Your reporter notes that it may have been at least one of the same who rode through the vehicle testing site at a few years ago, with an attendant in hot pursuit.
The rest of the ride was fast and hard with a welcome coffee at Georgia Cafe. The ride back was also fast and hard for the most part. Av speed was over 24 km/ hr.
Instead of photos today, a link to a couple of stories - one about how to deal with red lights, and the other a review of the Faraday Porter.
